Meet LUCY!
LUCY (루시) is a kband with 4 members, (left to right) Sangyeop, Wonsang, Yechan, and Gwangil. They are under MYSTIC STORY and was self-formed through the show SUPERBAND. They debuted on 8th May 2020 with the digital single "Dear." and the title track "Flowering"Follow the buttons below if you're curious about them! Group Introduction
[ NAME & LOGO ]• "LUCY" was named after the dog who lives in the studio where they used to practice during superband. It was Gwangil's idea. LUCY itself means "Light".• LUCY is a feminine name, while the band is consisted of men. They wanted to defy such prejudice with that name, just like how they want LUCY to make music without any prejudice or limits.• The logo's diagonal line represents LUCY's challenge to open a new world of music. It contains their unique specialty that allows listeners to experience a variety of time and space. This worldview was also shown through their debut trailer.[ GROUP COLOR ]• Though there was never an announcement for an official color, LUCY has always been associated with the color blue, even by the members themselves, saying "LUCY is blue" and that they want to show various shades of blue, to even having an EP titled 'BLUE'. 💙• Their 2nd EP 'BLUE' has the tagline 'All kind of BLUE: painted from four BLUE, only one BLUE' and each members have their own blue shade throughout the designs, further pushing the idea of blue being LUCY's color
[ FANDOM ]Our fandom name is "walwal". It means "woof woof' and though it has been used since debut, it is finally declared as official on their 2nd Anniversary live. It is related to the origin of the name LUCY and the members who are active like puppies.[ FORMATION STORY ]All LUCY members were participants of the survival show "superband", a survival show where individual musicians will try forming a band.In this show, participants will form a group each round and perform a song together as a band. The groups are reshuffled every round before they finally form a fixed band for the finals. The show ran from April to August 2019.LUCY was one of the fixed band formed for the finals. With unique music highly praised by the judges, they placed 2nd, but didnt won anything by that. There were no obligations for them to continue on as a band after the show.Even so, LUCY wanted to continue on. However, LUCY's vocalist that time, Lee Juhyuk, was already part of a band, GIFT, prior to the show. Due to their clashing schedules, he left LUCY to focus on GIFT.The rest of the members then searched for a new vocalist by looking back through superband performance clips, where they found the performance clip of Sangyeop, who also participated on the show but got eliminated early. They thought his voice fits LUCY's color perfectly, so they went on to personally ask him to join the band. Sangyeop joined LUCY around November 2019 and the four of them continued together as LUCY since.On March 2020, MYSTIC STORY announced that LUCY has signed a contract with them, and they finally had their debut on May later that year.

Shin Yechan
(신예찬)

Role: Leader & Violinist
Birth: Chungju, North Chungcheong, 13th June 1992
• Started violin since 3rd grade. Due to the constant practice, he used to hate it and almost stopped. He even considered breaking his own violin. One day, he tried busking and fell in love with the violin once again.• Prior to LUCY, he was a member of Ganeung-dong Band, a well-known busking group. There are many videos of them busking on youtube, including this one which went viral. They appeared on "I can see your voice" in 2018.• Very passionate when playing the violin. He breaks his bows... A LOT.• He doesn't sing in almost all of LUCY's songs (he sings with his violin) but he does have solo songs in LUCY's albums, where he sang and wrote the song himself. The first time he had one being 'Dream' from the EP 'BLUE' (2021).• He also posts singing covers on his personal youtube and even appeared on king of masked singer. He has a signature lullaby-like singing tone• He is a good leader and hyung. His view of a good leader is "someone who can bring laughter to the team" and "someone who is always there to walk side by side together comfortably". His leading style clearly reflects so.• He likes drawing and is really talented at it too. He drew all the pictures for the visualizer videos for LUCY's BLUE EP tracks and the album cover for "fever"• He once bought all the members and their manager a nintendo switch each just so that he could lure them into playing Zelda.• He adopted a maltese puppy named Shin Seol in 2022 and is completely head over heels over his son• Already finished his military service• He explained his blue shade on the BLUE's design as the color of the sky during dawn before the sun rises

Choi Sangyeop

Birth: Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do, 27th February 1994
• Studied chemical engineering, but went on a leave of absence to enlist. After finishing his military service in 2015, he decided to pursue the things he wanted, so he started music and havent continued his studies since.• Was in duet song festival as VIXX Ken's partner in 2016. They were dubbed the "Zombie Couple" for always getting chosen to reappear after losing. They are currently still in contact.• Prior to LUCY, he did a lot of busking and had various part time jobs. He won many busking competitions including a daesang at the National Busking Competition in 2018 and got featured on TV for it.• Prior to LUCY, he also released songs as an indie artist. His first ever release is a kdrama OST in 2016 and his first solo release is the mixtape, "yeopx2" in 2017. He released many OST and solo songs after.• Composes instrumental tracks and uploads them on his soundcloud. Some are used for kdramas including vincenzo, little women, true beauty, etc.• He wishes to be a good influence for the people who like him, and he is always determinded to give back as much as he received. For example, he hosts a "study with me" live and often gives encouraging words and advice, mostly about self love and self improvement, among many• Loves futsal and exercise. He once did zumba on a vlive. Speaking of vlive, he also gave chemistry lesson there once.• He's nicknamed 359° because he looks the most normal but is actually the weirdest• He explained his blue shade on BLUE's design as the last blue that the others havent mentioned 😭

• LUCY's main producer, he leads LUCY's music. He's also part of a producing group, YENEVARA, with his friends, O.YEON and Park Jihwan. They produced many songs including one for WJSN and several for Summer Soul.• He once sent a song for Wanna One. It would have been used, but the song later lost to another candidate in a choice between the 2 songs.• A SOPA graduate, was classmates with Zelo (B.A.P), Joy (Red Velvet), and Soobin (WJSN). Joy did his makeup for a stage once back then. He also trained with Kim Jaehwan and Yuju (Cherry Bullet), but never really told where he trained and as what trainee he was.• His arrangement during superband got noticed by the original artist 3 times: "adventure of a lifetime" by Coldplay, "Swim" by Fickle Friends, and Cry bird by Tennyson.• In LUCY songs, he sometimes has some shorter lines or has a specific verse for himself. He's also in charge of rap verses when it's there. His first solo song in LUCY is in the album "Childhood" (2022) with the song Domino.• Likes anime and takes pride in being an anime enjoyer/otaku (as he should!!). He admits that the fact that he's an otaku is the reason why some LUCY songs sounds like jpop or anime songs.• Naturally speaks in a cute tone, has cute mannerisems, poses in anime girl poses, and has a 1000% contagious laugh (how can you not love him)• Jihan from Weeekly and him are cousins. He really loves her and sees her as his little sister.• He explained his blue shade on BLUE's design as sky blue

Shin Gwangil
(신광일)

Role: Drummer & Vocalist
Birth: Geoje, South Gyeongsang, 25th May 1997
• Auditioned superband as a vocalist with a guitar, went through the 1st and 2nd round as a bassist, and finished the finals as a drummer. He is basically a one man band.• He lived in Peru during his school years for 6 years and is fluent in spanish. There, he was known as Danny James Shin.• Unlike the others who joined mystic after signing LUCY, he's been a band trainee in Mystic for 5 years before finally debuting with LUCY. When he was a trainee, he sang a medley of seventeen songs for FLO channel.• He often uploads songs on his youtube and soundcloud under the name "WHO AM I". They're either drafts or full finished tracks.• He strikes a thumbs up pose in almost every photo, most notably on LUCY's post schedule photos. He said the reason he does so is because he wants everyone to have a good day.• He made a futsal group and is always recruiting members from people he met in schedules. Some mentioned members are Sangyeop, kband members, Pentagon Shinwon, some AB6IX and Omega X members, two Xdinary Heroes members, and CIX Seunghun.• He said his dream is for LUCY to become a gagband, and he always seems to have the god of comedy on his side (click the links for examples).• Graduated college in 2022. He studied administrative management. He is currenly the only member to finish a degree as all the others stopped midway.• He explained his blue shade on BLUE's design as the very small blue light that shines when you see a black screen

LUCY are the main producers of their own songs, with Wonsang as their main producer and the others usually give their input. Sometimes the other members also have a track where they mainly work on.
They have album commentaries. We can really see the thought process of their song making there.
The first song they wrote together after Sangyeop joined is "Stove" which all 4 members wrote together in late 2019. Despite already performing this song since predebut, it was officially released later in 2021.
LUCY's official fansong is "You Are My Light". The lyrics are compiled into a song by the members from submissions by walwals through an event. It's a special song because all 4 members sang here! Before it got its title, it was simply called "fansong".

You can really see their full charm when they're performing live! They really look happy on stage
They are also really good at performing acoustic! They prepared an acoustic arrangement of most of their songs, and often they made it have its own different charm.
You can find many of their live performance clips on youtube from either performance schedules or uploaded live clips, and their official youtube channel complied them all neatly in playlists.

LUCY's "Extended" Team
A little shoutout to people on the front row of this picture! 🥰 From the left, they are, O.YEON (Han Seungyeon), Park Jihwan, Park Insun, and Choi Younghoon. They are friends of LUCY who are also notable people behind LUCY's musicAll four of them are members of the producing group, Galactico. Other than Insun, they often participate in LUCY's song making together with the LUCY members. While sometimes there are also other people who also helped, these three are the most often to appear!Younghoon and O.YEON also often tags along with LUCY in some of their stages as their session guitarist and keyboardist repectively, while Jihwan and Insun usually joins during LUCY's solo concerts, with Jihwan as the sound operator and Insun as the session drummer for Gwangil's solo stages.
